About AMPAL
AMPAL is a national not-for-profit organization working for peace in the Middle East. AMPAL (Americans and Palestinians for Peace) was created to fill the need of informing the American public about the Palestinian dream of self-determination. Relying on facts and statistics concerning the Peace Process, AMPAL is the counter balance of what is shown in the media or the propaganda that most individuals receive their information from. We strive to be a powerful force for mobilizing grassroots support among American citizens.
AMPAL believes in the creation of an independent Palestinian state including land and refugees being returned, the right to govern and protect its own people, and the peaceful coexistence with its neighboring countries.
Our goal is to see Palestine emerge as an independent state. By working with the American Government and individuals, we will strive to achieve our goal of Palestinian Statehood through peaceful means.
AMPAL PRINCIPLES FOR JUST PEACE
1. Israel must end their military occupation immediately.
2. Israel must admit that it has committed an injustice against the Palestinian people and must accept responsibility for that.
3. The Palestinians Must have their own independent and democratic state on the whole Gaza Strip and the west Bank including East Jerusalem.
4. Jerusalem must be shared by the two states of Palestine and Israel. East Jerusalem the capital of Palestine while west Jerusalem the capital of Israel.
5. The Right of Return for Palestinians according to UN and International law.
6. A Peaceful Coexistence between Palestine and Israel. Both nations lives in peace and security.
