

Palestinian Artist Mr. Jalal Dabeet
Mr. Jalal Dabeet was born in Jerusalem, Palestine. He attended a private high school in Ramallah, Palestine, and received his college degree from IL Beato Angelico in Milan, Italy. He earned his degree in church restoration, fine arts, and sculpturing. He is currently teaching Fine Arts at a school in Ramallah. He previously worked for Bier-Zeit University as an artist and taught art classes at a school in Bethlehem, Palestine.
He is a member of the League of Palestinian Artists, and participated in many art exhibits inside and outside of Palestine. He has also organized many art exhibits to display his art. He received an invitation from the state department through the United States Information Agency as an international visitor in 1988 and spent 40 days in the U.S. presenting the Palestinian arts.
He received many national and international awards for his art such as the International Jerusalem Conference Award, The Orthodox Club Art Award, Bethlehem University Award, and the Catholic Club. He also received the Unicef award in France.
His students have participated in many international and national art exhibits and many have received the Palestine Art Award. Some students have received the Bethlehem Art Award for two years.
