WELCOME TO MY HERB GARDEN!

Read about the things that come out of my garden-from fresh herbs to perfumes, to flavorful teas. Follow my gardening experiences from planting to harvesting. I will be adding to this as time allows. So check back in here to see what's coming from the 1999 garden!

It is the middle of June and I am finally getting to updating some of this very busy site! I am taking a few days here, to write that my garden needs weeding. I have been busy trimming back my russian sage. I think I am going to have to move it next spring. My husband built up the side garden last year to a level of about 2.5 feet high. I placed a fish pond into it, so I can sit on the edge and enjoy the garden and watch the little fishes go by.

My mom died this past Febuary, so my family has been busy breaking down the family home. There are 6 kids, (one who passed away at 34) who's involved with this project. Our parents lived in the same home for 33 years, I believe, so there is alot to undo. Coming to the final stages, my sister Karen and I couldn't let her roses and a few other plants that Mom liked well, stay there for some stranger to neglect. So, I dedicated a small garden to "Mom's Garden". I planted one of her salmon colored roses, some day lilies and sweet williams in that spot. All transplanted well.

John has planted our vege garden. We have enjoyed lettuce, broccoli, and some radishes and onions from it. Our yard is small, so we do well and are thankful for what we do get out of this space! We have eggplant, tomatoes and peppers and cukes and zukes all planted and doing well.

The flowers all are doing well. We added a hosta garden this spring, also. The gardens are finally coming up so the weeds don't. The lillies are just beautiful right now. We split them up this past fall and there must be a bed of about 80 or so. Next year, they will be even better! Bye for now!!
