Another great gift idea that we made in out Herb Pals Study Group!
Take any size clay pot you prefer. I like the 6"-8" pots, myself. You will also need craft paints, spanish moss, dried pressed flowers, and a bit of ribbon. Instead of dried pressed flowers, you may also use floral or victorian wrapping paper or cut outs from old cards. Also, a jar of decoupage, a paint brush, and a hot glue gun.
This is such a neat craft idea for you can make so many and have everyone of them be different! You can start by painting the pots your favorite color. Let dry. Then start decoupaging your dried flowers, or cut-outs onto the pot, but not the rim. I suppose you can do the rim, if you like, omitting the spanish moss top treatment. Add as much art material as you want, making sure everything has a good coat of decoupage when you are finished.
Once your pot is dry, take your hot glue gun and glue pieces of spanish moss around the top rim of the pot. Finish off by wrapping a 1/4" ribbon around the spanish moss and adding a bow with tails trailing down the front of the pot.
Add candy, or a plant and give it to your gardening friend. It'll surely bring on a smile!
